Illinois Elks Association

Dudley Parenteau - PER
Tiler

IEA Athletic Commission
Commissioner, Area 2
I have been an Elk for 44 years. I started at Chicago North Lodge #1666. The
attraction for me and my family; Wife Ginny and four boys, was two outdoor
tennis courts and a swimming pool.
I was an Elk for fifteen years before I got involved as a member of the house
committee. After several years on the House committee I moved on to Trustee
where I remained for approximately five years. I was Loyal, Lecturing, Leading
Knight, then ER for two terms.
In 1998 I demitted to Des Plaines Lodge #1526 and for Lodge year 2000-01 served
as Leading Knight and then on to Exalted Ruler and five years as a Trustee. I
have served as North District National. Veterans Service Chairman for three
years. I am currently in my second year as chairman of the Board of Directors
for Des Plaines Lodge and IEA Tiller.
My wife Ginny and I are long-time USO volunteers at O’Hare airport. We are, in a
small way, part of the “Honor Flight Chicago” teem. Several times a year we
represent the USO as greeters to the WWII Veterans returning from Washington DC
after visiting the war memorials.
I have been retired for two and a half years and still going strong (for a 71
year old) and am very appreciative of the Elks and my involvement with them and
the USO.
